An expanded version of our popular 17' Cruising Catboat, this larger sister has almost twice the room in her proportionately larger hull. She's the answer for those who are in love with the 17' Catboat, but who'd like something "just a little bigger". She has 6'-2" standing headroom and the practicality of the traditional catboat hull about her.
The catboat and topsail cutter rigs give the boat some interesting options. The topsail cutter is the designer's favorite, with the variety of sails making her versatile and easily handled in a variety of conditions with a high fun quotient.
Her heavy displacement gives a great comfort to being aboard, and her hull form with the ballast on the keel give her great stability for carrying sail in a strong breeze. She has very high sail area to wetted surface and displacement ratios to assure good sailing performance in light airs too.
